Sport Knee Surgery
Procedure Overview
Radiofrequency ablation is the practice of burning nerve endings adjacent to a painful joint, such as the knee, to decrease pain.
This is done in a controlled fashion, with a patient under anaesthetic and under X-Ray guidance to pinpoint the nerves responsible for painful sensations.
It is a quick procedure that has a growing body of evidence for effectiveness in treating pain, usually for those who are either too early in the disease or otherwise not appropriate for more extensive surgical options.
